The City Council Speaker, Christine Quinn, was bid adieu.

The New York Times turns on its pet Mayor as he readies to step down.

But not before a ban on e-cigarettes and foam containers is passed.

Remember a time when land use regulations protected people's right to light.  Not in the age of billionaire mayors.  Hopefully this nonsense will come to an end as well.

And hopefully the age of private industry's encroachment into public life will soon come to an end.
