Dark thoughts filled his mind
all the optimism just went blind

He figured it was time to unwind
and hoped that happiness he would find

but he could not control it
for the pessimism was brought in

by outside forces
and he could not stop them

all he could do was run away from
the places they all came from

but everywhere he turned
was a world that simply burned

with the desire
to fill his soul with the darkest fire

in the end he chose to retire
and escape all the things that were dire
