The mayor of New York spoke about telecommuting, days after Yahoo CEO, and overall yahoo, Marissa Mayer instituted a no telecommuting policy at her yahoo Yahoo company. He said that he thought telecommuting was a bad idea.
But in true Mike Bloomberg form, what is good for the goose is not good for the gander. Much like the two-term term limits imposed by the people of New York City on all its politicians, it does not apply to the mayor himself, who recused himself of such a limit as the worthless city would not be able to find a better alternative to him. So now Bloomberg thinks telecommuting is dumb? Let us take a look at some of the material in the above link shall we:
As a billionaire with multiple homes outside New York City, he has defended his right to work remotely, without disclosing his whereabouts. He says he can work and stay in touch through his various devices.
After he was criticized for not being in town when a major blizzard paralyzed the city on Christmas weekend in 2010, he said:
"To the best of my recollection in nine years there hasn't been a time when you couldn't communicate, get me on the phone, whether I'm traveling or uptown or downtown."
LOL? Nice to know we live in a society where the rules are applied equally to all, regardless of socio-economic status.
