On the Timeline of Genius

What passes for obvious today was profound yesterday and is idiotic tomorrow.  Ah the temporal dimension.  Will we ever grasp a true understanding of time or are we destined to live a life of ignorance?  The commenters had some thoughts on time and how thoughts and behaviors are viewed differently at different points on the timeline.

Bly offered some advice on proposals:

If anyone proposed to me on a card manufacturer’s manufactured holiday, why I just don’t know what I would do.

Flossy on Tom Sawyer:

These kids are so temperamental, they could have been on a reality show today.

In response to Willthedill's comment on the lack of genius of Aristotle, Photog17 said:

So, an anachronistic genius then?  At what point on the historic timeline do you stop being a total genius?
