"How am I doing?"
were the words he was heard spewing
rough and tough
like the city he loved
the man's name was Koch
and for twelve years he held watch
as the city went broke
and came back
crime, corruption, and greed
in the city of Boss Tweed
but he eschewed it all
and never had an ugly fall
He shaped the city
was sharp and witty
and worked the nitty-gritty
and today, the city feels a bit more chilly

I don’t know why I’m bothering today, but here’s a haiku:
The Queensborough Bridge
is now named after this man
and my poem sucks

I once saw him
on the street
but we didn’t
really meet
I was still a kid
and didn’t make to much of it
But my parents said
there goes a man that’s great

Same thing happened to me, but parents didn’t fawn over him like that.

and today, the city feels a bit more chilly
That’s because it’s cold outside.

This was beautiful, rest in peace mayor Koch. If not peace then in a world where people are frank and witty and such.
