Let Us Copy Magazines

The New York papers are known for their ability to convey the day's most significant news in an eloquent and pithy manner.  We here at Dateline Headline will be comparing the headlines of the major New York papers and keep a running tally of the best.  Newspapers will be awarded from zero to ten points.  Click on the headlines to see an image of each paper's front page.  Can you do better than the New York papers?  Place your headline of the day below.

All five New York dailies covered different stories today.  One just took the front page of a magazine and passed it off as their own.  Is digital to blame for the fall of the newspaper?  Or is it the fact that they are just phoning it in?

5.  New York Post - MAYOR DRACULA / Chris Quinn vamps it up
The Post took New York Magazine's cover and placed it on their own.  Points awarded: 0.

4.  Newsday - SENATE OKS SANDY AID / $50B ON THE WAY
The typical Newsday headline that has led the paper like 40 times already.  A point for meter.  Points awarded: 1.

3.  The Wall Street Journal - U.S. to Expand Role in Africa / Military Pact with Niger Brings American Forces Closer to Conflict in Mali
Points being informative and covering real news.  Points awarded: 2.

2.  The New York Times - U.S. WEIGHS BASE FOR SPY DRONES IN NORTH AFRICA / TO TRACK EXTREMISTS
Points for meter and covering real news.  Points awarded: 2.

1.  Daily News - FIGHT TO BEAR ARMS / N.Y. hero's double limb transplant
A pun on all the Second Amendment talk recently without the Second Amendment talk.  Also, Bloomberg's "Look at the ass on her!"  Points awarded: 4.

Give the Post zeros for the next ten days as punishment. At least they were honest about it and put the magazine’s logo on there as well.
