There He Is, Mister President

The New York papers are known for their ability to convey the day's most significant news in an eloquent and pithy manner.  We here at Dateline Headline will be comparing the headlines of the major New York papers and keep a running tally of the best.  Newspapers will be awarded from zero to ten points.  Click on the headlines to see an image of each paper's front page.  Can you do better than the New York papers?  Place your headline of the day below.

The tabloids were a disaster today, although to be fair the news of the day is broadsheet material so it comes as no surprise that the broadsheets would have the better headlines today.  The Daily News is also apparently unaware that the inauguration took place yesterday.

5.  Daily News - School massacre shocker / LANZA'S GUNS WEREN'T LOCKED UP
We know Mort was rooting for Romney, but to completely dismiss the inauguration, even the Post attempted to cover it.  Points awarded: 0.

4.  New York Post - FIRST COUPLE / (Well almost) / Pols fawn over Beyonce, Jay-Z at inaugural
What the?  I guess this was supposed to be witty.  Points awarded: 0.

3.  Newsday - THE INAUGURATION / OBAMA'S AGENDA
Straightforward, I suppose.  Points awarded: 1.

2.  The Wall Street Journal - Obama Vows Aggressive Agenda / Speech Signals A President Set To Fight Over New To-Do List
Points laying out in broad overview of speech.  Points awarded: 2.

1.  The New York Times - OBAMA OFFERS LIBERAL VISION: 'WE MUST ACT' / Inaugural Stresses Theme of Civil and Gay Rights - Safety Net Praised
Points for offering up content of speech.  Points awarded: 4.

You would think Newsday being in Long Island and all would have had the loudest headlines.
