London Chopper

Every day on the Daily Poet we present the day's news in poetry form.  Do you want to play too?  Simply pick a news item and place your poem in the comments below.  Poetry and news.  These two were meant to be wed.

A tower in the heart of London
was struck by a helicopter

The tower stands
the copter lands

upon the ground
in a heaping mound

and on a crane
lays all the blame

It flies
then dies

It chops the air
then lays bare

Its constant whirring
is cause for stirring

and in the end, slain
by a crain

Fly fly in the sky
Die die by the London eye
No breakfast on rye
